EU FLEGT Action Plan regulating illegal wood starting March 03, 2013
***legal IPE hardwood decking and flooring***
EU FLEGT Action Plan regulating illegal wood
applies to anyone involved in the timber business, not just EU importers
and exporting from Europe but all parties, project developers, construction
companies to small installers.
From March 03, 2013 companies will be held
responsible for handling illegal wood. ALL parties have the duty of 'due
diligence'. (The same
thing is true for our American clients with the
Lacey act). This means that the timber company needs to investigate and do
everything possible in order to guarantee its legal origin of its wood
purchases. Buying from Hardydeck this process is simple since Hardydeck
provides
his buyers with all the necessary legal
documentation. Along with the invoice, packinglist etc., we include the
original wood certificate and
this certificate has a number (concession
number) to which the entire concession can be found online.
For you as a buyer it is important to
understand that dealing with a middleman does definitely NOT improve
transparency of the entire supply chain. Buying from Hardydeck means direct access
to the concessions and so legal wood. Hardydeck has its own concessions, logging
activities, cutting and exporting. For more information please visit our
